UBYK's first EP "Matryoshka" was a showcase of simplicity - recorded almost entirely with acoustic guitars and vocals. "The Odds" EP introduces dub-tinged basslines, flamenco guitars, samples and groovy drums to create a uniquely L.A. sound.
The songs on the album were played live in various venues before UBYK entered the studio and have morphed throughout the recording process. The album was recorded at "Dodger Studiom" - a DIY studio in L.A.'s Echo Park neighborhood. Additional mixing/recording was done in "The Dream Room" and "Spike Studios."
What are "The Odds" of being in the right place at the right time? UBYK's new EP is for anyone who considers "The Odds" of how they got to where they are today.
